The Art of Travel

Heading off on Eurostar for a summer break on the continent? Leave time in your schedule to pop in to St Pancras by Searcys and sample their new afternoon tea offering. The summertime pop-up, in partnership with Veuve Clicquot, Globe-Trotter and Sipsmith London, has transformed Europe’s longest Champagne bar into London’s hottest pre-holiday spot.

The special menu plays on the delicacies of 12 European cities, and comes served in a stylish suitcase. Expect the likes of classic French opera gâteau, Belgian white chocolate mousse and passion fruit Swiss meringue pie. Accompanying the tea, drinks ambassador Joel Claustre has carefully created a cocktail and Champagne list, presented in a beautiful passport shaped cover. And the fun doesn’t end there, because each of the 12 booths has been transformed to feel like a different European city destination.

Afternoon tea is available between 3pm and 5pm daily, and costs £26 per head. Grand Terrace, Upper Concourse, St Pancras International Station, N1C (020 7870 9900; stpancrasbysearcys.co.uk)
