Exclusive Surfing Programme Launched by Soneva
The Maldives’ diving credentials need no introduction, but it may come as a surprise to hear that those crystal clear waters also provide some of the world’s most special surfing spots. This summer, having discovered 24 secret surfing spots within the Baa Atoll and Noonu Atoll, Soneva have officially launched an exclusive surf programme. Designed to pioneer luxurious yet sustainable surfing – using eco-friendly surfboards, leashes, fins, rash guards, sunscreen and board wax – Soneva Surf will be offered at both Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani, and the resident yacht, Soneva in Aqua, will offer a surfing charter.
Local communities
As part of the programme, in an effort to encourage the younger generation to understand the power and vulnerability of their ocean home, Soneva will also be working with the local communities to provide equipment, opportunities and training for aspiring Maldivian surfers.
