Rural Escape: Back to Nature

Forgive us if you’ve heard us mention this one before, but we’ve been looking forward to this opening for the best part of a year, so we’ve got everything crossed that it is able go ahead very soon. Set in a former glass blowing factory in the pretty Norfolk village of Langham, The Harper has embraced its history with bespoke glass features.

Located in the heart of North Norfolk’s tranquil countryside, but close to the sea, we think that the 32-bedroom boutique hotel is the perfect place to recharge. Guests can curl up in front of the log burner, hang out playing board games or pool in The Den, enjoy sunny days and eat al fresco in The Yard, or simply kick back and relax at the on-site spa, with indoor pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and menu of stress-melting treatments. Meanwhile, those looking to explore the glorious setting can grab one of the hotel’s bikes or head off on one of the pre-planned rambling trails, before returning for a hearty feast to refuel. Food at The Harper honours the seasons and celebrates the hotel’s location where land meets sea – think cosmopolitan with a Norfolk twist. Sounds divine.

Rooms start at £175 per night (theharper.co.uk)
