Wall Couture

A date for the diary – and one to look forward to come the inevitable gloom as back-to-school September sets in… Fabric faves Fromental – those luxe-loving purveyors of beautiful hand-painted wallpapers – are set to host an open studios event at their Queen’s Park show flat on Thursday 22 September.

In two sessions, Fromental’s head artist from China will be on hand to showcase the intricate skills needed to create these eye-catching papers, and as if to prove the close correlation between wallpaper and art, there will be a selection of framed pieces on offer, too. For the first time, framed fragments of Fromental’s signature chinoiserie and other designs will be up for grabs, including printed, hand-painted and hand-embroidered works. Nothing short of couture for your walls, this is your chance to acquire your very own Oriental-inspired artwork – and be awed by its craftsmanship in the process.

Fromental’s Framed Fragments Sale is taking place at 28 Kimberley Court, Kimberley Road, NW6  from 10am to 6pm on 22 September, with hand-painting demonstrations at 11am and 3pm. (fromental.co.uk)
