Now that spring has turned to summer – and boy, are we in for some summer this week – the event on our social calendar that always makes the good times feel so good is finally here: Wimbledon! This year, our favourite luxury chocolate brand and glamorous tennis hopeful, Caroline Wozniacki, have teamed up for the creation of Caroline by Godiva’s master chef chocolatier Jean Apostolou. Strawberry cream surrounded by 72 per cent cocoa dark chocolate (the kind that’s actually good for you), emblazoned with the Wimbledon emblem… we think it’s ace!
We bumped into Caroline at Harrods, where these sweet delights are exclusively available in the Godiva café. She was taking a masterclass with Chef Jean on a rare day off from preparation for Wimbledon, which kicks off this week. Having recently declared her desire to work with a chocolate brand, Godiva were only too happy to oblige, and the results are not only sweet for Caroline, but tasty for all tennis fans.
So, is indulging in luscious little sweet treats conducive to competing in the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament? Ms Wozniacki certainly thinks so, and if her intricate decorating skills are any indication of her performance on court, then we’re certain her first major title is in the (piping) bag.
