Pop up: Flower Power

Here’s some news to brighten your day: Italy’s most Instagram-able plant-based burger joint has just opened the doors to its first site in the UK. Sitting pretty on Fitzrovia’s Charlotte Street, the restaurant offers a vibrant menu of colourful vegan fast food that’s crying out to be shown off on your squares. Made in-house using fresh veg, cereals and legumes, Flower Burger classics include the Cherry Bomb featuring a lentil and basmati rice patty in a pink bun coloured with beetroot; and the signature Flower Burger, with a seitan and red kidney bean patty served in a purple bun. Making its debut here is the Jungle Burger; a red bean and oat patty, with lettuce, tomatoes, courgettes, Flower cheddar and wild smoky BBQ sauce, served in a green bun made with turmeric and spirulina. Burgers are paired with a selection of sides including potato wedges, edamame and patatas bravas. And, to round off the meal, there are a range of delicious vegan desserts to choose from – we love the Coco-nuts, made with creamy coconut heart between nut grains in espresso coffee, cocoa roasted hazelnuts and a vegan chocolate glaze. It goes without saying that the space is as playful as the food – think bold colours, kaleidoscopic graphics and psychedelic designs. When eat-ins are allowed, the swing table, surrounded by four candy coloured swinging chairs is sure to be in high demand. Bloomin’ marvellous.
