Zia Lucia opens a second restaurant
Having carved out a fantastic reputation in Islington, the pizza restaurant Zia Lucia has just opened its second branch in west London.
Gimme all your dough
All the wood-fired pizzas at Zia Lucia Brook Green are priced from £7-£11 and feature fresh, classic Italian toppings and are available on four types of dough. Zia Lucia has become renowned for its impressive selection of 48-hour slow-fermented doughs, including traditional white flour, wholemeal, gluten-free and vegetable charcoal black base. On a recent visit we checked out the latter and had to say it is without a doubt the best pizza we’ve ever had (and this comes from people with a great deal of pizza-eating experience!)
Can you top it?
Toppings range from Italian favourites such as fiery nduja, spicy salami and truffle honey through to burrata, gorgonzola and vegan butternut squash cream. Our favourite was the Arianna – mozzarella, fresh sausage, taleggio goat cheese, pecorino cheese, truffle honey on the aforementioned charcoal base.
Alongside the pizzas is a selection of Italian-style starters such as mortadella and foccacia, bruschetta with chopped tomatoes and a good range of salads. Dessert-wise, alongside stalwarts such as tiramisu, there is unbelievably good ricotta cheesecake and a pizza with Nutella in the crust, custard, fresh fruit and honey. Every bit as good and indulgent as it sounds! The drinks menu focuses on spritzes, Negronis, bottled beers from Italy and locally brewed in London, as well as wine and Prosecco sourced from small Italian producers.
Family appeal
With a family-friendly vibe, this is a great addition to Brook Green and well worth a visit to try out their sumptuous pizzas for yourself.
