Fabric 5: Summer Terraces

Quick, the sun’s shining, grab some friends and head to one of these glorious suntrap spots for a bite to eat or an al fresco sundowner

1. Bronte
Tom Dixon’s iconic restaurant design at Bronte (below) is perfectly complemented by the venue’s new al fresco rosé bar. Don’t miss the ice-lolly cocktails – they are seriously wicked. The Grand Building, 1–3 Strand, WC2N (020 7930 8855; bronte.co.uk)

2. Coq D’Argent
The morning rooftop yoga sessions here, run by Fat Buddha, have caught our eye – not least because they’re followed by a slap-up brekkie on the terrace. No.1 Poultry, EC2R (020 7395 5000; coqdargent.co.uk)

3. Pergola on the Roof
For Hamptons-esque style without the transatlantic crossing, head to the rooftop at Television Centre. With capacity for 600, there’ll be no vying for a sunny spot. Multi Story Car Park, Television Centre, Wood Lane, W12 (pergolaontheroof.com)

4. The Stafford
Fancy escaping the city buzz? The Stafford’s cobbled courtyard is right in St. James’s, but feels a million miles away. 16-18 St. James’s Place, SW1A (020 7493 0111; thestaffordlondon.com)

5. John Lewis Gardening Club
This summer, John Lewis’ expansive rooftop houses a restaurant, London’s smallest pub, a foraging garden and multiple private summer houses, each with its own garden. 300 Oxford Street, W1C (020 7629 7711; johnlewis.com/thegardeningsociety)
