New Opening: Konnichiwa Covent Garden

As far as we’re concerned, 2021 is not the year to be making resolutions involving sacrifice. So, the moment lockdown is over we plan to take full advantage of London’s bars and eateries – goodness knows they need our support. And top of our list will be new sushi restaurant, Bisushima. Located in Covent Garden’s Page8 hotel, it had its grand opening just two days before the November lockdown. And having reopened to much acclaim last month, we can’t wait to see what the fuss is about.

Spread over 6,000 sq ft, the restaurant follows the principles of Shinrin-yoku, or nature therapy, with floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the space with light, a calming colour palette and design cues taken from the natural world, designed by Ben Adams Architects. Chef and restaurateur, Sergey Men has designed a seasonally changing menu of well-balanced and flavoursome modern Japanese food, including the Capital’s only Japanese breakfast. But the best bit has to be the two huge rooftop terraces, with views of Trafalgar Square, which will undoubtedly be in even higher demand this year!
