The Best Advent Calendars of 2017

Let the countdown begin with our round-up of the best advent calendars out there.

Once upon a time the 1st of December was greeted with mass excitement as the first window on the advent calendar was opened. In those days (okay, we are talking the 1980s) the only treat behind that window was an illustration of either a religious figure or a red robin, and that was still exciting. Nowadays, pretty much anything goes when it come to calendars and there’s much more to get excited about than just a pretty picture. Alcohol, beauty, chocolate and even pets are covered when the countdown begins, and here are our Fabric faves:

Fizz and Gin

British Home Stores: Good old BHS has 2 fab calendars available this year for those of us who enjoy a wee festive tipple. The ‘Sparkling Advent Calendar’ (£125) has 24 mini (20cl) bottles of white and rosé sparkling wines, as well as a mini Laurent Perrier Champagne to save until New Year’s Eve (if you can wait that long). The ‘Ginmas Advent Calendar’  (£100) has a full-sized bottle of The Lakes Gin to try with 24 different flavour tonic waters from expert producers like Fentimans and Fever Tree.
