Christmas and museum shopping all wrapped up

Christmas shopping and a spot of culture can combine on Sunday with ‘Museum Store Sunday’

If the thought of Black Friday and Cyber Monday fill you with dread, don’t panic!  There is now a feel-good Christmas shopping alternative: Museum Store Sunday on 26th November.  Enjoy a more relaxing, conscientious shopping experience, knowing that all proceeds directly benefit your favourite cultural organisation and provide a valuable contribution to culture in the UK.

The Museums:

Supported by the Association for Cultural Enterprises (ACE), Museum Shop Sunday celebrates our wonderful cultural institutions; from museums and art galleries to zoos, cathedrals and historical sites. Over 100 UK venues are participating, with 30 in London alone, including The Design Museum,  Natural History Museum, British Library, Royal Airforce Museum, London Transport Museum, Barbican Centre, and Tower of London shops.

The Freud Museum is even making Freud-shaped biscuits to give away to visitors on Sunday, and how often do you get to eat a biscuit in the shape of that great man? Visit to discover your local participating venues.

Hidden Gems:

Museum Store Sunday promises unexpected finds and hidden gems, alongside one-off promotions and ‘Meet the Product Creators’.  Be top of Santa’s nice list by treating your family and friends to truly unique and desirable Christmas gifts, chosen from a carefully curated range inspired by exhibitions and events: from books, stationery and homeware, to gourmet food, jewellery and children’s toys.

Jill Fenwick from ACE said, “The Association for Cultural Enterprises is proud to be part of this exciting new venture and delighted to have the opportunity to encourage consumers far and wide to further discover the UK’s cultural shops and their fabulous product ranges.”
