In celebration of the 90 year anniversary of Agatha Christie’s novel ‘The Seven Dials Mystery’, the iconic London destination is opening up its streets to book-lovers. Shoppers are invited to get lost in a secret literary trail, where the challenge is to find one of 90 books, hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of the Seven Dials. The prize for savvy snooping skills? To keep the book and an exclusively designed anniversary bookmark placed in each one, for free. Clues have already been released across the Seven Dials social media channels so be sure to follow @7DialsLondon on Twitter and Instagram.
The whole area is getting involved in the celebration of this special anniversary. An exclusive large scale public work of art, created by British artist Iona Rowland, will feature the legendary author with a modern and colourful touch. It will be there until Spring and then auctioned off for a charity partner. Tredwell’s restaurant, named after the butler in Christie’s novel, is also creating an exclusive menu for the event, amongst other surprises.
Perhaps there will be clues at the bottom of your glass (as good an excuse as any!). The Escapologist is offering 50% off your first round of drinks when quoting ‘Agatha Christie’. Visit Miller Harris, Teatulia Bar and Murdock London too to indulge in other exclusive discounts and promotions.
Creoate, the retail platform for female-led brands, are going that extra mile to honour the queen of crime writing. They are holding a ‘Discussion on Modern Journalism’, celebrating women writers with their exclusively female panel. Amongst the inspiring women are social media influencers Kristen and Melissa, The Adelaidians, and Caroline, the founder of 91 Magazine. Buy tickets here.
Events will take place on 24th January. Visit sevendials.co.uk website for details.
