To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, exclusive spirits brand The Last Drop Distillers is holding a pop-up atelier in the Piccadilly Arcade. Running until 31 May, it will give connoisseurs an opportunity to sample some of the world’s rarest and most sought-after spirits.
In 2008 veterans of the spirits trade Tom Jago, James Espey and James Fleck decided to create one last brand – The Last Drop Distillers – dedicated to finding old and exceptional casks of whisky, port and cognac. Ten years and eleven releases later, two of their daughters, Rebecca Jago and Beanie Geraedts-Espey have taken over the company helm.
Designed by renowned design team Radar, The Last Drop Distillers atelier will be bringing the brand to life with a cask installation, a library of its spirit collection, cocktail parties, tastings and a series of pairing dinners. Guests will also be able to enjoy Tom’s Blend – an 18-year-old blend created as a tribute to the 92-year-old co-founder who still pours himself a dram of fine whisky at 6 o’clock every evening. Tom’s Blend will also be forming the base of a series of bespoke cocktails created by beverage consultants Fluid Movement.
Visitors to the atelier will be able to see The Last Drop Distillers’ new “Pours” device, a masterpiece of engineering which uses a weight sensor and gravity to deliver a perfect measure of Tom’s Blend into a glass without the touch of a human hand.
In addition to the hosted events, the atelier will be open to the public on the 16 and 17 May for those interested in the brand to come in and learn more about it. Slots can be booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
