What’s your aphrodisiac of choice? Oysters, perhaps? Avocados, those sensuous pear-shaped fruit ? Or chocolate, one of the most popular of all? But really, anything can be an aphrodisiac, as we learned at The Mindful Kitchen. Anything at all that provokes a memory, a feeling, or the anticipation of the fun to come – as long as we think about it in the right mindset. In Elizabeth I’s time, it was potatoes, those exotic tubers from another land, arriving with the returning explorers and their tales of adventure which excited her Majesty. Nowadays we quaff Champagne, shuck oysters and scoff chocolate especially on Valentine’s Day, but why…?
To find out more about aphrodisiacs such as nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger and how any food – exotic or otherwise – can be mindfully consumed and connected to your senses, visit the Mindful Kitchen workshop in time for Valentine’s day, at the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch, for interactive and hands-on fun with spices, chocolates, and wine. You’ll come away with a fresh approach to mindful eating, and hopefully, your appetite satisfied.
Next workshop: Spice Up Your Life Aphrodisiac Workshop, February 11, 2017, at Ace Hotel, Shoreditch, London, E1 6JQ.
